High school offers dual enrollment opportunities for homeschool students

Families have various options for education for students — with homeschool and public school being just a couple.

In years past, students had to choose whether to be enrolled in Watauga County Schools full time or homeschooled — not both. This changed two years ago when WCS began to expand these options for high schoolers by allowing students to enroll half time — the minimum allowed by the state of North Carolina.

“I am very proud of our schools, and I want as many students as possible to benefit from a high quality public school experience,” said Superintendent Scott Elliott.
