  • Library Book Request Form

    Parents and students can request library books using the form when you click on this message. Library books will be checked out to students and then placed in their bags for pick up during their scheduled pick up times, Mondays and Thursdays 11:00-1:00 and 3:30-5:30. You may also return books during those times.

  • Mr. Scott Carter - Principal

    At its July meeting, the WCS Board of Education approved the hiring of Mr. Scott Carter as our new principal. Mr. Carter comes to Watauga County Schools from Holly Shelter Middle School in Wilmington where he served as an assistant principal. Mr. Carter has worked in New Hanover County Schools as a teacher and assistant principal since 2008. He earned his bachelor’s degree in middle grades education and his master's degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He is married and has two daughters. We look forward to hearing more from Mr. Carter in the days ahead and extend a warm welcome to he and his family as they settle into their new home and our community.

    Congratulations Mr. Ben Brown for being recognized as WCS Rookie Teacher of the Year. Mr. Brown is our Agriculture Teacher and teaches both at Cove Creek and Mabel Schools. We are very excited and proud of Mr. Brown and this outstanding accomplishment!

    Congratulations to our Cove Creek EBOB Team who came in 3rd place in the county competition! What an amazing day of sportsmanship and teamwork. Our BOB teams always know how to make a day very exciting when battling the books. Knowing these books inside and out is a must. Thank you, coaches, Carla Green and Laurie Warren.
