My role at Cove Creek School is serving along side my fellow colleagues as Digital Learning Coach, a goal of which is to support students, teachers and staff concerning digital content and instruction, and the variety of digital resources and tools needed to maintained and support student learning and growth.  Included among my many reponsibilities is that of collaboration, planning, co-teaching and helping to idenfity appropriate resources to assist all stakeholders whose goal is to meet the diverse needs of our students.  My desire is for all students to know they are valued and being adequately prepared with skills which allow them to be successful and productive as both users and consumers of technology.  Together we aspire to see students share in a sense of global awareness and responsibility as future communicators, higher level thinkers and problem solvers, with a discerning sense of what it means to leave a digital footprint and be outstanding and contributing digital citizens.

In addition to coaching, I also teach several MS exploratory classes, maintain both a fixed and flexible schedule, serve on multiple committees among which include SIT, MTAC and MTSS team, provide professional development, and serve as the front line of defense when it comes to technical emergencies that relate to hardware and software.

On a personal note, I grew up in the foothills of NC and come from a long line of educators.  I have a younger brother whose profession is in public service and a sister-in-love who is also an educator.  They have two beautiful daughters who are the loves of my life.  I have always aspired to follow in my parents' footsteps by becoming an educator and feel as though I am living my dream.  I received my Associate of Arts Degree from Western Piedmont Community College, and earned both my Bachelors and Masters degrees from Appalachian State University.  I have been an educator for over 20 years, the majority of which has been spent serving in Watauga County.  For a brief time, I was afforded the unique opportunity and privilege to teach and serve abroad at the International Christian School of Budapest (Hungary) from 2001-2005.  I am honored to be a Watauga County educator and serve our wonderful community.
