Welcome to Cove Creek! Home of Raiders!

  • Welcome to Cove Creek School! Home of the Raiders. We are a Pre-K through eighth grade school in Vilas, NC (Watauga County). Our school has approximately 300 students who are cared for and taught by caring teachers and staff. We have an amazing community of parents/guardians and community members that support our school.

Please feel free to browse our website for up-to-date information about school happenings, events, activities, and important information. On our school webpage, you will also find links and services available to our school.

You can join the Cove Creek Community Facebook page (You will be approved by an administrator) and receive information about the school, ask questions, and see daily happenings. You can also follow Cove Creek on Twitter at @kpwalker28 or @CCreekRaiders.

I send out a weekly Cove Creek Chronicle on Sunday nights/Monday mornings that shares news for the week, student photos, and all kinds of information about what is happening in classrooms, extra-curricular events, and sports. Please make sure, if you would like to receive The Cove Creek Chronicle but do not subscribe to Twitter or Facebook, that your information (cell phone number, home phone number, and/or email address) is updated in our Blackboard Connect system. I send The Cove Creek Chronicle out through Blackboard Connect every week as well. It is also the way you receive phone calls about happenings at the school. Ms. Sara Isaacs can help make sure we have your most updated information in order for you to stay informed.

My husband, Zach Walker, teaches theater at Watauga High School. My daughter, Lucy, will attend WHS next year. We enjoy listening to live music, running, and reading. We also enjoy watching sports and being with our family and friends. I have two sweet kitties, Jojo and Ellie. Folks will tell you that I love unicorns, but I think that is just a rumor that started a few years back (I love to see our students dressed in their unicorn outfits and jewelry and headbands, though). I love being the principal of Cove Creek and these last two years have just been amazing. I know 2019-2020 will be awesome as well.

Please do not hesitate to call, email, message or tweet at me if you have questions and/or concerns about Cove Creek School. This is the best place for students to learn and for adults to work in Watauga County.  I appreciate the support and cooperation of the Cove Creek School community.

    Thank you,
    Kelly Walker
