Degrees and Certifications:
I was born and raised in the coalfields of southern West Virginia. I served twelve years in the Army as a Military Police Officer, and 3 of those years with Explosive Ordnance Disposal. I moved to NC in 2011 to work as a correctional officer for the state while finishing my enlistment in the Army National Guard. After being blessed with my daughter, I decided it was time for a career change! I recently graduated from Appalachian State with a degree in Elementary Education, with a concentration in math, science, & technology. I am finishing my MA in Reading Education this year, as well as a certificate as an Autism Spectrum Disorders Specialist. I live in Avery County with my husband and three kids, but I am overjoyed to be teaching in Watauga County! Bethel is a wonderful place to be, and I couldn’t be happier to get to know all of you & be part of your beautiful community!
