Mrs. Maura Miller

Teaching is an absolute passion of mine!  I am so excited to work with you and your child! It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures, and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us! I thought you might like to know a little bit about me.

I went to Watauga High School and graduated from Appalachian State University in 2012.  I finished my Educational Leadership Master's degree from ETSU in the fall of 2020.  I got married on June 12, 2021, to Steve Miller!  We have a sweet house in Bethel where our puppy Layla lives.  I have one younger sister who teaches at Cove Creek Elementary.  My family all lives in Bethel.  My grandpa had a dairy farm but retired when I was in middle school.  

This will be my 9th year teaching in the 2021-2022 school year.  This will be my seventh year teaching Third Grade in the 2021-2022 school year. Before that, I taught 2 years of 4th grade and 3 years of 3rd grade in another district. I absolutely love teaching Third Grade! It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students.  I attempt to teach with passion so that my students develop a desire to become life-long learners.  

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  Third Grade can at times seem overwhelming, and it is my goal to make this transition as easy as possible.  It is so important to keep communication open between us, and I would love to talk to you throughout the year to help your student have a successful school year! I look forward to a great year together!
