Welcome to 5^th Grade at Parkway School!  Fifth grade is a magical time, especially at Parkway School.  I will care and nurture your child as a student and person.  During the year we watch our awesome students morph into mature independent learners and great problem solvers.

I am a teacher who is caring and compassionate.  This trait has developed from being a teacher for 31 years and being a mother and wife.  My husband, Kevin, and I have been married for 30 years.  We have two children.  Kara is 25 and has started a successful business as a hairstylist and make-up artist in Auburn, AL.  She recently got married this summer.  Our son, Turk, is a professional golfer who plays on the LIV and Asian Tours.  My husband, Kevin, is a retired golf professional and currently works for Mountain Lumber in Foscoe.  Kevin and I moved to The High Country in July 2017 from Alabama.  We love living in The High Country and our children love visiting!

During my teaching tenure, I have developed several core principles and beliefs which guide my work with students and their families.

2. I believe that students must be motivated to be learners!

3. I believe that teaching and learning are inseparable!

4. I believe that students need a risk-free learning environment to learn!

5. I believe that families are a pivotal piece in their child's learning!
