Mr. Dan McAulay

Hi, my name is Dan McAulay and I am the Visual Arts teacher at Cove Creek School.  I am from Amity Island, NY and was born in 1975 which was the same year Chief Brody killed the great white shark that had been plaguing our coastline.  I received my primary and secondary education from the Jedi Academy located on the capital planet of Coruscant. This was of course before the great Imperial Uprising in which the academy was unfortunately destroyed.  I received my Bachelor's degree in Visual Movement Painting, moving paintings for muggles, from Hogwarts in 1999 and am currently working on my Master's degree with the renowned Dr. Who.

In all seriousness though I was actually born in 1975 and raised in North Carolina. Specifically Huntersville and the Greater Charlotte Metro Area.  As you can discern from the above paragraph I am a certified geek and love pop culture.  I attended Appalachian State University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with a primary concentration in sculpture, second concentration in painting, and third concentration in ceramics.  I have taught high school art for 11 plus years and K-8 art for three years.  I fell in love with the Boone area while here in college and feel blessed to be able to teach in Watauga County.  May the force be with all of us.
