Licensure

Effective January 2024, individuals who are currently employed with Watauga County Schools must meet the following renewal requirements by June 30 of their renewal year:

  • K-5 Employees Credits
    • 3.0 Literacy Credits
    • 3.0 Content Credits
    • 2.0 General Credits
  • Grades 6-12 Employees:
    • 4.0 Content Credits
    • 4.0 General Credits 
  • Student Services
    • 4.0 Professional Discipline Credits
    • 4.0 General Credits
  • Administrators
    • 4.0 Executive's Role
    • 4.0 General Credits
