Board of Education Meetings
The Watauga County Board of Education conducts its monthly meetings on the second Monday of each month.
Citizens wishing to speak (3-minute limit) during "Public Comment" must sign up by 6:00 p.m. the day of the meeting by filling out the forms available in the entrance area of the Margaret E. Gragg Education Center. Please note that matters involving individual students, school personnel, or legal issues cannot be addressed in open session.

Election Process for the Board of Education
The Watauga County Board of Education consists of five members elected on a nonpartisan, countywide basis, with three positions on the board open for election every two years. Board candidates file for election in January and the field is narrowed to six candidates during the May primary election. Elections take place in November and the Board is seated in December.
