Hi, I'm Mrs. Harkey! I have been teaching since 2013. I have also taught first, fifth grade and kindergarten here at Mabel. 

I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education from Appalachian State University, in 2011. Then in 2013, I graduated from UNCC with my masters in reading education. Following graduation, I married my husband, Jake, and we moved to this beautiful place! Jake and I have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Heidi. I enjoy reading, cooking, coaching Special Olympics, and spending time outdoors.
