    Watauga County Camp Med Information ~  Activities include at least 35 contact hours of presentation, tours/observation and clinical experiences. The program is during the day July 6th-10th. Application link here, be sure to choose Watauga Camp Med. Specifically, the program’s aim is to identify 10-15 current ninth to twelfth grade high school students who have (1) an interest in a health career and (2) academic potential for a career in the health sciences. The goal of Camp med is to identify a diverse group of students interested in health careers. Camp Med is funded primarily by Northwest AHEC, with in-kind support from Appalachian Regional Healthcare System. Camp Med will be held at Appalachian Regional Healthcare System and other field trip locations: Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from Appalachian Regional Healthcare System, ASU or Watauga CCC&TI campus. When we travel to High Point University on July 7th we will use a Watauga County Schools Activity bus. More info here

    Trade Up ~ Trade Up is a partnership between Watauga High School, Caldwell Community College, Watauga County Economic Development Commission and High Country Home Builders Association designed to bring new talent to the construction and fabrication trades. During the Summer of 2020, students will attend classes at CCC&TI one week then work for a local builder for seven weeks. Students will be paid $9.00 per hour!     NC State Residential Engineering Camps ~ Each summer, the College of Engineering at NC State University offers rising 11th and 12th grade high school students the opportunity to experience engineering and get a glimpse of college life while staying on the NC State campus in Raleigh. The residential program allows students to explore a particular field of engineering in more depth while staying on campus in residential university housing.  There is a fee for this program.     Niners Academy at UNC Charlotte ~ Our focus for our high school camps (rising grades 9-12) is to introduce campers to academic disciplines and careers that high school curricula may not offer, preparing them for both college and career.  Each of these camps can be considered great builders for both college applications and professional resumes. In addition to our knowledgeable and personable instructors, our Niner Academy students will have two camp counselors who are leaders on their respective campuses to serve as college mentors.     UNC Greensboro Music Camp ~ The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is pleased to again announce plans for Summer Music Camp, the largest university music camp in America! This summer we will offer two one-week camps, serving over 2,040 musicians, with programs in band, mixed chorus, orchestra, and piano.  There is a fee for this camp.
