    Career and College Promise allows Watauga High School juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn tuition free college credit through participation in Caldwell Community College’s dual enrollment programs. College transfer programs, for students wanting a head start on university-level coursework, and career and technical programs designed to provide real-world work skills, are both available through Career and College Promise and are tuition free.
    • College Transfer Pathways are available to WHS students in the 11th and 12th grades who make a weighted GPA of 3.0 and have achieved college readinss benchmarks from the PLAN, PSAT, ACT, SAT or ACUPLACER.  Students taking classes through the College Transfer Pathways plan to attend a 4-year college or university or to obtain an Associates Degree. These classes fall under the North Carolina Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) and will transfer to any NC public college or university.  

     

    • Career and Technical Pathways are available to WHS students in the 11th and 12th grades regardless of GPA and standardized test scores, provided the student has permission from the principal or their designee.  These pathways allow students to get an early start on achieving college certificates, diplomas or Associates Degrees in a particular career technical field.
