Under the direction and coordiantion of Courtney Smith, WHS has earned the NC Green School of Excellence award along with 19 other schools in North Carolina.
Sustainability Club: The WHS Sustainability Club promotes environmental and social sustainability on campus and in the community including resources conservation, civic involvement, social justice, and environmental stewardship. We volunteer with local organizations which share our cause, raise money for campus sustainability improvements (refillable water bottle stations, single-stream recycling), and educating each other through common readings and field trips.
Science Club: The Student Academy of Science is a student led club which meets bimonthly to promote an interestin the study of science, technology, and mathmatics and encouraging students to investgate pursuing careers in science and technology.
